About
My PhD research is into the links between subculture (specifically punk), and political protest. I conceptualise protest in a way that encompasses lifestyle choices as forms of activism. I am interested in how individual identities are constructed and performed through the intersection of a variety of aspects of social life, including these forms of activism and subcultural choices.
I am currently in the first year of my PhD which is funded by the AHRC. I am working as part of the research project: 'Post-Socialist Punk: Beyond the Double Irony of Self-Abasement', which is based at the University of Warwick.
